COVERING TABLES AND INTERESTING TOPICS -APRIL 3 Vol. 2 Issue 5

Gingko

This is a great Summer and Spring pattern. All the little leaves flutter and create an interesting tablescape especially for your outdoor and tent events. Our spring colors in Turquoise, Apple, Willow and Grape are very cool.

ORDERING THE CORRECT SIZE TABLECLOTHS

A quick lesson in measuring.

Standard 30" high tables

Rounds: Take the diameter and add 60 inches to get the size of the cloth to the floor. i.e. 48" round  table plus 60"  means you need a 108" ROUND TABLECLOTH

Rectangles: Take the length and add 60" and take the width and add 60". i.e. 30"w x 96" (8-foot) means you need a 90 x 156.

High Tops On Extenders: Use the diamter plus 84" to get the cloth size.

Rectangles On Extenders:  Use the length plus 84" and the width plus 84" to get the cloth size.

Toppers: Use a 54" Square on 30" Round, 36" Round and Hightops

Use a 90" Square on 60" Round and 72" Round.

You can use 2 -90" Squares to cover your banquets.

PERIWINKLE PINTUCK

This is the perfect shade of periwinkle.  It will look so stunning for a summer party. Imagine it with white  hemstitch napkins, hydrangea blooms and apple martinis.  Delicious!

Photo Contest

Well, I must say that I was just a bit disappointed this month. No, not the cold weather, the slumping economy or even the five pounds I put on over the winter. Nope, it was the dismal response to March's photo contest where I was giving out beautiful napkin rings. Was it my poor photography? As I lamented to Karen Lamsback she gave me a mental head slap through the phone and said " I thought you were smart, you went to law school, it's all about the money, kiddo."  Well, Well, Well! Now I know you all have a price and that price is not napkin rings - it's cash. So, for April the $100.00 visa card is back on the table for the best photo using Total Table tablecloths. You drive a hard bargain!

POO POURRI

YEAH - YOU READ THAT RIGHT. POO POURRI.  And the funny thing is, not that this is not already funny, but this is really is a good idea. Does it work? Well, I saw the Husband heading into his bathroom with a newspaper and I said,  ”Stop - I have something to do,  before you do your do-do - that you do so well”.  I spritzed the bowl water, just as the manual instructed, and then I sent him in. Believe it or not - it worked!  I have no idea how often you might find yourself in need of it but I suspect that at the moment you need it most,  it is sitting home in your bathroom and not at the restaurant with one toilet and a line forming outside. But if you ever thought this this was a good idea, you can rest assured that someone has come to your rescue.  It has a citrus smell and the essential oils are sprayed onto the toilet water forming a barrier of sorts. The rest of the story you can figure out on your own.  But in the public interest,  it might be good for all those port-a-potty tent events this summer. Spritz on!

PUT A LABEL ON IT.

WE ARE HAPPY TO LABEL YOUR LINENS SO THAT WHEN YOU ARE READY TO SET UP THERE IS NO GUESSING AS TO WHERE EACH LINEN IS TO GO. JUST REMEMBER TO LIST THE USE WHEN YOU ORDER BY FAX OR EMAIL OR TELL US WHEN YOU ORDER BY PHONE.

Tales and Woes of a Caterer

If you can identify, and you know who you are,  read on.  Just my luck I find a blog site that I like and POOF! it disappears. The Food Whore Diary.  The name alone made me want to read it and perhaps due to my stoic upbringing, I think  the name may have something to do with her site crashing. I don’t know, I am just saying. I hardly even swear on my blog, as opposed to real life where I curse like a drunken sailor. And I often refer to myself as the Fabric Whore due to all the fabric and tablecloths I own. But seriously, I am re-thinking that moniker. Luckily, her old posts are still available So give it a read. She is funny, brassy, irreverent, and full of piss and vinegar,  and writes about her life as a restaurant owner and caterer. Here is just one funny post for you.  If you like it you can see the old site archives here and  the new site here.
